Welcome to ONLINE PSYCHOLOGY with Mrs. Lytton

 

This course will introduce you to the history, theories, principles, applications, and other phenomena associated with psychology. In the process, you might just learn a lot about yourself and others.

Here is an overview / syllabus of our course:

              

This course offers you an engaging introduction to the essential topics in psychology. Throughout this study of human behavior and the mind, you will gain insight into the history of the field of psychology, as well as explore current theories and issues in areas such as thinking, feeling, motivation, memory, learning, psychological disorders and their treatment, and finally social interactions. Because psychology is an applied science, scientific methods and principles of research design are emphasized throughout this course and presented in a way that will enrich your study of individuals as thinking, feeling, and social beings. The course is aligned with the NC Common Core Standards.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

1.Understand the discipline of psychology using various perspectives and research methods.

2.Understand the relationship between biology and behavior.

3.Understand how conditioning, learning, and cognition affect behavior.

4.Understand how interaction with others influences thoughts, feelings, perceptions,and behaviors.

5.Analyze human development throughout the lifespan.

6.Understand human differences and strategies for coping when those differences create dysfunction.

Meet your teacher

Welcome to Fall 2017 Semester. I am so excited about our journey this semester and how we are the first group to go through this course together for Lincoln County Schools. I am, Mrs. Lytton, your teacher for this online course. I am currently in my 14th year of teaching for North Carolina, and my 8th year teaching online. I have one little boy, Levi who is a handful at 3 years old!

As we go through the course communication is key! I expect you to be open with communication, know that I am here for you and WANT you to be a great success!
